Replica of the Welcome Stranger gold nugget, the largest gold nugget ever found.

The "Welcome Stranger" was the largest gold nugget ever discovered, and was found by two men named John Deason and Richard Oates, on Friday February 5, 1869 at Moliagul, Victoria. Interestingly when this piece of gold was discovered, no scales that were capable of weighing a nugget of this size were available, and so it was broken into three pieces on an anvil.
